Announces a job opening for an:  ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST

 

DUTIES INCLUDE; 

Responsible for providing a variety of environmental investigations, inspections, testing, permitting, enforcement and educational services to Bartholomew County residents.

Candidate will conduct site inspections, field work, respond to complaints, investigate illness reports, conduct educational programs, prepare reports and document investigations, as well as other job duties as assigned. 

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

Bachelor’s degree required in environmental science, public health, biology, or related field. Possession of, or ability to complete training and become certified in Environmental Health Specialist disciplines such as;

certified pool operator, certified pesticide applicator, ServSafe food training, first responder, etc. as required by department advancement schedules.  See Job Description for all info.

 

 

SALARY STATUS 

 

Full time position with benefits after probationary period including health and retirement plan

Starting pay at $2480 per two week pay period.  

County work vehicle provided and must have valid license

Work jurisdiction is Bartholomew County including the City of Columbus, Indiana 47201
